Bedroom Update

The master bedroom repaint is complete....Here are the after photos...it's been a lot of work, but we wanted to create a retreat...kind of like staying a comfy hotel on a distant tropical island.

Oh Christmas Tree

The tree has come full circle.  When mom and all of us lived in New Albany mom had a gorgeous artificial Christmas tree. I've coveted this tree.  Mom wasn't the most excited about putting up the tree and decorating it...so it was kind of my thing. I loved putting up this tree because once it was together it looked like a real tree.

So after a 10 year hiatus (the tree's been in storage at mom's for the last 10 years) the tree has been assembled again.  Below is a picture of the tree and then a pic of Jack and Rocky in front of the tree. We tried to get Katy to stay in the picture...but she will only sit when she wants to....Thanks Mom for giving me the tree. The other really cool thing is the ornaments on the tree are from my Grandma Z, Mom, Donnie's Mom, and some Donnie and I bought together.  It's truly a family tree!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Laziness

Yesterday I was blessed with an ICE day from my work.  So I worked all day around the house. Donnie and I took a break at the end of the evening  to watch some TV.  Typically our watching TV consists of Katy sitting on or around my lap.  Jack and Rocky are sprawled out on the floor by our feet.  We'll last night Donnie got up from our sitting room in our bedroom to get a drink and he turned the corner and saw this...

Our dogs are not stupid...they crashed out on our queen size bed....tooooo cute

Up, Up, and Away

About two weeks ago before this Arctic air come upon us Donnie and I got a special invite to go up in a friend's friend's (Thanks Kevin) hot air balloon.  We took off in New Albany and landing a field close to Huber's.  It was really cool and I learned a couple of things.

1. You can't steer a hot air balloon...for some reason I always thought that the heat and the components in the basket allowed you to steer. You are at the wind's mercy.
2. Depending on the temperature of the propane in the canisters depend on just how much weight can be in the basket and properly fly.

We had a great time and saw some unusual things...a herd of donkeys, cows roaming a junk yard, and a couple of scared deer as we approached.  We also saw a truck and I'm sure that hunter was not happy to see us.  Every time the pilot fires the heaters...there's a loud sound and it would scatter any deer on the ground.

Enjoy the pics.  Thank you so much Brad and Melissa for the invite.
