Birthday Surprise

So last Saturday for my husband's birthday, I surprised him with a trip to the Kentucky Horse Park with a tour of 3 Horse Farms.  The Kentucky Horse Park will be the host of the world Equestrian Games in September 2010.  It is the first time in its history that it's left Europe, and a great honor for Lexington, KY.
He loved it and I enjoyed him taking a ton of pictures (230)...glad I charged his camera for him.  We were able to see a show with a bunch of different horse breeds and see how they are utilized.
I got to see a statue for Man O' War.  His stride was 28 feet...so that means at full speed "one step" was 28 feet long.  It took me 14 steps to match his distance.
Here's a picture of the statue.

We got to see a 10 day old colt from Fairy Heights and Street Sense.  He was so cute and not even named yet.

It was  great trip and we both had a fabulous time. The horse all the breeds were beautiful and it amazes me how they were truly designed for a certain purpose.  God amazes me..His creativity with the bugs, animals and especially humans makes me laugh.

Lately

So I've working a lot lately and that makes me truly ready for a vacation. That being said I am so looking for to Saturday. I'm surprising my husband with a surprise road trip for his birthday. It'll only be a day..but I am so enjoying stressing out my little control freak. He's always able to surprise me and I've not been able to do that since we got married.

I will let EVERYONE know where we ended up going and I send out a special thank you to my mother-in-law for coming by on Saturday to let Jack out while we are gone.

Oh how I love surprises and surprising those I love. :)

Charlestown State Park

Over Memorial Day weekend Donnie and I went to Charlestown State Park. First, I didn't know one of these existed. Second, I didn't realize it overlooks the Ohio River.
Here's some pictures of our picnic. The weather was warm, but not very sunny. It was still a nice time to sit and eat our dinner and play Yahtzee. Best out of 3.

By the way...I got my hair cut...Again.
